Unless you reside in Morocco where the product is created, you will have to pay duties as the product crosses borders before arriving to you. Duty rates vary greatly depending on the product and country of origin.
This depends on the type of rug. Beni Ourain, Boujad and Azilal rug are made of 100% wool. Boucherouitte and Kilims are made from recycled textile materials. All our rugs are handmade in Morocco by artisans in the Atlas Mountains.
Rugs need care in order to stay clean and have lasting value.
We suggest, id possible, to periodically taking your rug outside and shaking it to remove dust, crumbs and other particles that may have gone into the fiber of your rug.
Its also advised to periodically vacuum your rug. Make sure you don't put the vacuum at its highest most powerful setting, and vacuum your rug width wise, from side to side and not from top to bottom.
Should your rug get stained by food, drink or other, spot clean it as soon as possible with soap and water - make sure not to use anything to strong that could alter the color of your rug. Anything with bleach is a nono!
Finally its best to avoid stains by asking your guests to take off their shoes to prevent dirt from getting embedded into the fiber of the rug.
Our rugs undergo many quality controls that ensure the shedding is to a minimum. Of course because these rugs are quite plush, it would be impossible to eliminate shedding completely, but compared to other rugs sold at astronomical prices in designer furniture stores, our Beni Ourains do not shed alot. A simple weekly vaacuming will be necessary to avoid any dust from accumulating.
